Job Description

MHS CTE Engineering Teacher

We are seeking an innovative, student-centered CTE Engineering Teacher to lead our Robotics and Engineering Career Pathways. The ideal candidate has strong technical expertise, a passion for applied problem-solving, and a commitment to preparing students for high-wage, high-demand STEM fields. This educator will design, deliver, and assess hands-on learning experiences that cultivate creativity, critical thinking, and technical skill development in a modern engineering lab setting.

Current Tennessee Teaching Certificate - valid endorsement category for teaching this coursework per State of TN
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Develop and maintain project-based, standards-aligned curricula grounded in real-world applications and industry expectations.

Integrate industry-standard tools, software, and equipment, such as CAD, 3D printing, (e.g., VEX, FIRST), and engineering simulation tools.

Promote engineering design thinking and iterative problem-solving.

Work with administrators, instructional teams and support personnel to plan and implement programs and activities for students and the school community
Deliver dynamic instruction that meets state standards
Supervise and coordinate the Blount County Robotics Program
Utilize technology to create a blended instructional learning environment
Analyze student data on a consistent basis to meet the individual needs of students and deliver appropriate instruction
Be an active member of the faculty and staff
Create and maintain a positive classroom climate through effective classroom management; supervise the proper care of school property
Be self-reflective by participating in personal professional growth activities to learn new skills and improve teaching
Promote positive student, parent and community relationships through using effective written and oral communication
Serve as the sponsor for the Robotics Team
