Tennessee Inclusion Teacher Job Description (Grades 5-8)
Job Goal: To provide specialized academic and physical training to students with disabilities within the general education setting, ensuring they receive the necessary support to thrive in an inclusive learning environment.
Qualifications:
- Valid Tennessee teacher's license with appropriate endorsement (Special Education required).
- Bachelor's degree in education or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Meets health and physical requirements.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Responsibilities typically include adapting the curriculum and providing instruction based on student needs and IEPs. Teachers develop and implement IEPs, monitor student progress through assessments, and collaborate with general educators and service providers. They also manage student behavior and support social skill development. Communication with parents is essential, including conducting meetings and providing progress updates. Compliance with policies, regulations, and laws is also a key duty.
