Position Overview
The Global Studies & Creative Writing Teacher at Santa Fe South Middle School plays an important role in helping students expand their thinking, deepen cultural understanding, and strengthen authentic writing skills across disciplines.
This established elective position continues the work of a long-standing program and offers an opportunity for a thoughtful educator to build upon a strong foundation while bringing fresh ideas and energy to the classroom. The teacher will design engaging learning experiences that help students explore global cultures and perspectives while developing writing as a tool for communication, reflection, and expression.
These courses are designed to:
Develop students’ creative and analytical writing abilities across multiple genres (narrative, argumentative, reflective, journalistic, and creative).
Deepen understanding and appreciation of diverse countries, cultures, histories, and perspectives.

Empower students to use writing as a tool for expression, empathy, and impact.
Unlike many core academic courses at Santa Fe South, this elective allows for meaningful instructional creativity. The selected teacher will continue and refine course structures while developing engaging units and signature learning experiences aligned with Santa Fe South’s expectations for rigor, engagement, and measurable student growth.
