The Savannah R-3 School District is seeking a passionate and dynamic Speech & Debate Teacher to inspire students in the art of communication, critical thinking, and competitive performance. This position involves teaching courses in speech, communication, and debate, while also coaching and growing a competitive speech and debate program.  This position is for the 2026-27 school year.

Primary Responsibilities

Deliver effective instruction aligned with Missouri Learning Standards

Develop lesson plans that accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities

Assess student learning and provide timely feedback

Maintain accurate student records and documentation

Create a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment

Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and support staff

Communicate regularly with students, parents, and guardians

Participate in professional development and school activities

Perform other duties as assigned by administration

Qualifications

Valid Missouri teaching certificate in the specified subject area and grade level

Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred)

Strong classroom management and organizational skills

Ability to build positive relationships with students and families

Commitment to student success and continuous improvement

Preferred Qualifications (Optional)

Experience teaching at the secondary level

Ability to integrate technology into instruction

Experience with differentiated instruction and data-driven teaching
