Ray-Pec Academy is seeking a dynamic and innovative high school teacher who is passionate about helping students explore their interests and develop meaningful skills for their futures. Ray-Pec Academy is a non-traditional high school program dedicated to providing personalized, student-centered learning experiences. Our mission is to cultivate a creative and collaborative learning environment where students can explore their passions, engage in real-world projects, and develop the skills they need for future success. We emphasize the intersection of student interests with practical applications, all while ensuring alignment with rigorous, standards-based learning to prepare students to thrive in an ever-changing world.
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a combination of English courses and established elective courses while also collaborating with staff, students, and the wider community to design and facilitate new, engaging elective courses. These courses will focus on the intersectionality of student interests, current trends, and real-world learning opportunities. Candidates should hold or be eligible for a valid Missouri Certificate for grades 9-12.
Key Responsibilities:
Teach a variety of established electives (such as art/digital photography, Drivers Education, Design, etc.) to high school students in grades 9-12.
Collaborate with fellow educators, administrators, and students to design and implement new electives that engage students in hands-on, real-world learning experiences.
Foster a positive, inclusive, and collaborative classroom environment that promotes student creativity, critical thinking, and self-direction.
Incorporate technology, project-based learning, and experiential opportunities into elective offerings.
Maintain open communication with students, parents, and staff to ensure student success.
Stay current with educational trends, teaching methods, and subject-specific innovations to continually enhance instructional practices.
Participate in professional development, school events, and team-building activities.

Salary schedule placement acknowledging highest level of education and ALL years of previous teaching experience as allowed by the salary schedule.
