Raymore-Peculiar School District is seeking a passionate and dedicated Elementary Academic Intervention Teacher to join our dynamic team at Raymore Elementary for the 2026-2027 school year! Our ideal candidate is a compassionate educator who desires to see each child succeed and meet his/her potential. The Academic Interventionist is responsible for providing targeted instructional interventions in reading and/or math to students who require additional academic support and supporting teachers with effective instructional practices across all tiers of instruction. This role involves working closely with teachers, administrators, and support staff to implement research-based intervention strategies that help students achieve grade-level proficiency. The interventionist will assess student progress, deliver small group or individualized instruction, and collaborate with stakeholders to develop effective learning plans. The qualified candidate should hold or be eligible for a valid Missouri Certificate for grades K-6. Previous elementary teaching experience required. LETRS or Orton-Gillingham certification preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide group and, if needed, one-on-one, instructional interventions in reading and math to students identified as needing additional support.
Use evidence-based intervention strategies to address student learning gaps and promote academic growth and achievement.
Assess student performance through formative and summative assessments to track progress and adjust instructional approaches as needed.
Collaborate with classroom teachers to align intervention strategies with core curriculum and classroom instruction.
Collaborate with the instructional coach, building principal and other staff to lead/co-lead data management and analysis, professional learning delivery and design, and instructional planning across all tiers.
Facilitate/co-facilitate professional learning and job-embedded support to teachers in implementing effective instruction and intervention strategies within all tiers of a multi-tiered system of support (MTSS).
Develop and implement individualized academic success plans, including state-mandated Reading Success Plans, in coordination with other building teachers and parents to support student success.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, intervention strategies, and outcomes.
Seek out, triangulate, analyze, and communicate data in a manner that drives student learning success at the student, classroom, grade and school-level.
Facilitate data meetings and student support team discussions to inform instructional decisions and interventions.
Communicate regularly with parents, teachers, and school staff regarding student progress and strategies for continued support
Stay current on best practices in academic instruction in all tiers, academic interventions, instructional methodologies, and assessment tools
