Position Summary

Montgomery County Middle School is seeking a passionate and skilled Middle School ELA Teacher to cultivate strong reading, writing, and critical thinking skills in students. This position emphasizes engaging, student-centered instruction supported by high-quality curriculum resources designed to build literacy across a variety of texts and genres.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging ELA instruction aligned to state standards
Teach reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills through a variety of texts and strategies
Utilize provided curriculum resources to support literacy development and student engagement
Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners
Foster critical thinking, discussion, and effective communication skills
Monitor student progress and adjust instruction based on data
Provide meaningful feedback to support student growth in writing and comprehension
Collaborate with colleagues to support student success and interdisciplinary learning

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required; English, education, or related field preferred
Valid teaching certification (or ability to obtain)
Strong classroom management and instructional skills
Passion for literacy and student-centered learning
Ability to build positive relationships with middle school students
Effective communication and collaboration skills
