Position Summary

Montgomery County Middle School is seeking an innovative and student-centered educator to teach Middle
School Gateway courses through Project Lead the Way (PLTW). This position focuses on hands-on,
project-based learning experiences that introduce students to engineering, design, automation, and real-world
problem-solving. The teacher will utilize PLTW's established curriculum and resources to engage students in
collaborative, inquiry-driven learning.

Key Responsibilities

Implement Project Lead the Way Gateway curriculum with fidelity
Facilitate hands-on, project-based learning experiences in areas such as design, automation, and
engineering
Guide students through the design process, encouraging creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking
Utilize PLTW resources, technology, and equipment to enhance instruction
Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners
Monitor student progress and adjust instruction based on data
Maintain a safe, organized, and well-managed lab/classroom environment
Collaborate with colleagues to support student success and promote STEM opportunities

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required; STEM, education, or related field preferred
Valid teaching certification (or ability to obtain)
Willingness to complete required PLTW Core Training
Strong classroom management and instructional skills
Passion for hands-on, project-based learning and STEM education
Ability to build positive relationships with middle school students
Effective communication and collaboration skills
