Job Description

Job Title: Secondary Teacher- Career and Technical Education-Water Management Systems

Salary Grade: T01-T06

Department: Career and Technical Education

Reports To: School Administrator-CTE

FLSA Status: Exempt

Position Summary:

Provides instruction in the content area to students in the Career Technical Education Program

What You'll Be Doing: (Responsibilities)

1. Develop and execute lesson plans that lead toward student achievement of competencies in the area of expertise.

2. Develop and update, as needed, the curriculum for the content program

3. Prepare orders for the purchase of supplies, tools, equipment, and instructional materials necessary to support the

learning activities of the program

4. Maintain inventory and repair records, and ensure the safe and proper operation and maintenance of tools and

equipment

5. Maintain an Advisory Board and keep records of meeting notices, meeting agendas, and meeting minutes

6. Remain informed of new trends, methods, materials, tools, and equipment in content area

7. Actively participate in all professional development activities as required by Kansas City Public Schools

8. Integrate Career & Technical Student Organization (C.T.S.O.) leadership activities into the area of content

9. Other job related duties as assigned by the building leadership

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None

To Be Successful at This Job, You'll Need To: (Qualifications)

1. Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university and four thousand (4000) hours of department-approved,

closely related occupational experience within the past ten (10) years or

2. 60 Credit Hours or Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university and five thousand (5000) hours of

department-approved closely related occupational experience within the past ten (10) years;

3. Valid certificates completed as applicable (CPR; culinary, business, safety, etc)

4. Hold or be eligible for a Missouri CTE- Water/Waste Water Tech Certification

5. Previous experience as a classroom teacher
