Child Development Center Lead Teacher: Architect of Wonder

Location: Child Development Center @ Lee Hamilton

Year: 2026-2027 Program Year (12-Month Position)

Role Summary

As an Early Education Child Development Lead Teacher, you will manage a classroom environment designed for the holistic growth of young children. You will lead the implementation of a high-quality, play-based curriculum that fosters social-emotional, physical, and cognitive development. Working as a professional leader within the center, you will mentor assistant staff, partner deeply with families, and ensure a safe, inclusive, and joyful "first school" experience for every child.

Why You’ll Succeed (Qualifications)
Education & Experience: * Associate’s degree in Child Development or Early Education OR
120 College Credit Hours in a child-related course.
Proven Track Record: Experience working within a licensed child care facility is required.
Certificates/Licenses: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Missouri Substitute Certification through the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE).
The Heart for Early Learning: You have a deep understanding of developmental milestones and the power of positive reinforcement.
Professional Leader: You are organized, communicative, and ready to lead a classroom team toward excellence.
Your Impact (Key Duties)
Lead Instruction: Design and implement daily lesson plans that encourage exploration, language development, and foundational literacy/math through play.
Foster Environment: Maintain a classroom that is physically safe, emotionally nurturing, and intellectually stimulating.
Partner with Families: Build strong, trusting relationships with parents and guardians through regular communication and family engagement events.
Mentor Support Staff: Provide guidance and collaboration for classroom assistants and aides to ensure a cohesive team approach.
Observe & Document: Use developmental screening tools to track child progress and tailor instruction to individual needs.

Work Year: 12-Month Calendar (Providing year-round stability for our scholars and families).
Salary: Based on the Professional Support Staff Salary Schedule, determined by experience.l.
