Role Summary
As a Traveling Secondary Spanish Teacher, you will inspire and support students in reaching their linguistic and cultural goals across multiple school sites. You will deliver high-quality, immersive instruction that focuses on high-frequency communication and cultural appreciation. Working in a variety of school settings, you will maintain a positive, student-centered environment and collaborate with multiple building teams to ensure a seamless and world-class language experience for every 7th - 12th grader.
Why You’ll Succeed (Qualifications)
Certified Professional: Valid Missouri Teaching Certification in Spanish (K-12).
Degree Requirements: Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree, required; Master’s degree, preferred.
Linguistic Expert: You possess a high level of proficiency in Spanish and a deep understanding of the diverse cultures within the Spanish-speaking world.
The "Agile" Educator: You are highly organized, comfortable with a "classroom-on-wheels" setup, and can quickly build rapport with students and staff in different buildings.
Essential Requirement: Must possess a valid driver’s license and have access to reliable personal transportation for daily travel between school sites.
Equity Champion: You are committed to culturally responsive teaching, ensuring that our diverse student body sees Spanish as a tool for their own personal and professional empowerment.
Your Impact (Key Duties)
Inspire Conversational Fluency: Design and lead high-engagement lessons that use music, media, and interactive games to get students speaking Spanish from day one.
Bridge the Buildings: Serve as a consistent, professional link between middle school sites, ensuring that the Spanish curriculum is delivered with excellence and equity at every location.
Cultural Immersion: Integrate authentic cultural experiences—from food and art to history and current events—into every unit of study.
Collaborate for Success: Partner with building-level PLCs and the World Language department to align curriculum and share innovative strategies for itinerant teaching.
Travel with Purpose: Manage a flexible schedule with professionalism, maintaining a high standard of instruction and student engagement regardless of the physical setting.

The Logistics of Your Success
Classification: Exempt, Certified Staff
Work Year: 10-Month Academic Calendar (187 Contract Days)
Transportation: This position requires travel between buildings; mileage reimbursement is provided per district policy.
Salary: Based on the Teacher Salary Schedule.
