Role Overview

A Momentum Academy Summer Lead Teacher will be a dedicated and dynamic educator committed to fostering both academic growth and character development in young scholars. They will create an engaging and supportive learning environment, implement effective instructional strategies, and adapt lessons to meet the needs of all students. Through strong classroom management and a focus on foundational skills, they will ensure that every scholar makes meaningful progress throughout the summer program.


Essential Responsibilities

  • Facilitate a high-engagement, high-achievement classroom environment
  • Use strong instructional skills in delivering rigorous, standards-aligned lessons that drive student growth
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom culture that supports scholars’ academic and social-emotional development
  • Work alongside students and families in diverse, low-income communities to build strong relationships and support learning
  • Follow all directions and requests made by the Momentum Academy Leadership or Executive Director, or building leadership in a timely manner.
  • Complete internalization and preparation for Summer school during this school year.


Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field
  • Appropriate Missouri Teaching Certification for the content area preferred
  • Proficiency in educational technology and classroom management tools, with strong skills in MS Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel


Qualifications

  • Momentum Academy Lead Teacher for the 26-27 School Year (required)
  • Complete all 19 days of summer school (17 with scholars, 2 PD & Classroom Prep)


Compensation

  • 3500 for lead teaching role


Schedule

  • PD and Classroom Setup: May 28 & May 29, 8am-3:30pm
  • Summer School: June 1-24, 7:30am-3:30pm
