Primary job responsibilities include:

• Develops and provides an effective comprehensive school counseling program to serve the needs of all students.
• Provides individual counseling services to meet the developmental, preventive and remedial needs of students.
• Implements appropriate and prevention-oriented group activities to meet student needs and school goals.
• Provides consultation to teachers and school leadership regarding information, strategies, and approaches for maximizing the total development of students
• Makes appropriate referrals to assist parents/families and students to obtain the benefit from community services
• Provides academic advising services to assigned students.
• Initiates and continually updates 4-year academic plans for assigned students.
• Assists with the development of class schedules. Conducts one-on-one interviews with returning and transfer students to create schedules for the following school year.
• Analyzes transcripts of transfer students to determine graduation progress and transfer credits.
• Oversees graduation requirements and credits. Monitor and report deficiencies.
• Monitors the “No Grade” report and academic support and remediation programs that are developed and implemented.
