PHYSICAL EDUCATION TEACHER

REPORTS TO: Elementary School Administration
PAY TYPE: Contract, Non-Supervisory
PAY RATE: Based upon the WLCSC Master Teacher Contract (see attachment)
BENEFITS: Eligible (see attachment)
SCHEDULE: 183 Days; Follows school calendar

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Plans and delivers engaging, developmentally appropriate Physical Education instruction aligned with the adopted elementary (K-3) curriculum and grade-level standards
Develops students' fundamental motor skills, physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship in a safe and inclusive learning environment
Assesses student progress and provides feedback to support individual growth and skill development
Collaborates with staff and administration to support student success and school-wide initiatives while maintaining and organizing PE equipment and instructional materials.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Education, Training, and Experience Required:
Bachelor's Degree (minimum)
Valid Indiana Teacher's License in Physical Education (Grades P-12)
Displays excellent communication skills and professional demeanor
Experience working in a school environment preferred
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Worker Characteristics:
Displays positive and enthusiastic attitude
Ability to work as a team with other staff
Displays dependability and punctuality
Preferred willingness to sponsor an extracurricular group/team

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Position works indoors in a typical school gymnasium environment
May work near others, often within a few feet
May occasionally be exposed to noise levels that are distracting
