Ryan Park Elementary School is seeking a dedicated and student-centered Elementary Teacher to join our team. We are looking for an educator who is passionate about building strong foundational skills, fostering a love of learning, and supporting the academic and social-emotional development of every student.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of evidence-based literacy and mathematics instruction, collaborate effectively with colleagues, and create an engaging, inclusive classroom environment where all students can succeed.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality instruction aligned with Indiana Academic Standards, district curriculum maps, and adopted instructional resources.
• Implement Science of Reading–aligned literacy instruction to support early reading development.
• Use assessment data to inform instruction and monitor student progress.
• Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and learning.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners.
• Collaborate with grade-level teams, instructional coaches, and support staff to improve student outcomes.
• Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
• Participate actively in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) to plan instruction, analyze student data, share best practices, and develop interventions that improve student outcomes.
• Implement research-based instructional strategies to ensure success for all students. This includes utilizing SIOP (Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol) components to support English Language Learners. 
• Maintain proactive communication with students, families, and staff.
• Participate in extracurricular activities as assigned.

Qualifications

• Valid Indiana Teaching License in Elementary Education (K–6).
• Science of Reading training required.
• Strong knowledge of evidence-based literacy practices and early reading development.
• Strong classroom management, proficiency with educational technology, and excellent interpersonal communication.
• Commitment to collaboration, continuous improvement, and student success.
• Completion of Safe Hiring Solutions' expanded background check, including the Department of Child Services index.

Preferred Qualifications

• Early Literacy Endorsement preferred.
• Experience implementing structured literacy instruction.
• Experience using assessment data to guide instruction.
• Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with students and families.

Compensation

• Rate of Pay: To be determined based on experience according to the Master Contract
• Health, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance Benefit-eligible position
• Indiana Teacher Retirement Fund Contribution-eligible position (Pension)

Start Date: To be determined based upon School Board and Superintendent approval.
