Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Elementary K-5 Teacher to join our team at Huntingburg Elementary School! As an Elementary Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the educational experience of our students in grades K-5. Your passion for teaching and commitment to fostering a nurturing and inclusive learning environment will contribute to the academic and personal growth of our young learners.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement engaging and age-appropriate lesson plans that align with the curriculum and educational standards.
Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes a love for learning, respect, and cooperation among students.
Provide instruction in various subjects, including language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, and other relevant disciplines.
Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students, including those with individual education plans (IEPs) and English language learners (ELLs).
Utilize a variety of teaching strategies, instructional resources, and technology to enhance student engagement and understanding.
Assess student progress through a variety of formative and summative assessments and provide timely and constructive feedback.
Collaborate with other teachers, administrators, and parents to support the holistic development of students.
Foster a safe and supportive classroom environment that encourages social-emotional growth, character development, and positive behavior.
Plan and facilitate interactive and hands-on learning experiences, including field trips, experiments, group projects, and discussions.
Encourage student participation in extracurricular activities, such as clubs, sports, and events.
Communicate regularly with parents and guardians, providing updates on student progress, challenges, and achievements.
Attend professional development opportunities to stay updated on current educational practices and enhance teaching skills.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or a related field.
Valid teaching license for elementary education.
Previous experience teaching elementary students is preferred but not required.
Strong knowledge of child development, pedagogy, and current educational practices.
Familiarity with curriculum frameworks and educational standards for elementary education.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues.
Passion for working with children and a commitment to their academic and personal growth.
Patience, adaptability, and the ability to create a positive and supportive classroom environment.
Strong organizational and time-management skills to effectively plan and manage classroom activities.
Proficiency in utilizing technology for instructional purposes.
