Position: High School Special Education Teacher (9-12)

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction aligned to students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in a variety of settings, including co-teaching and/or resource classrooms.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to ensure appropriate accommodations, modifications, and inclusive practices are implemented with fidelity.
• Support transition planning and services to prepare students for postsecondary education, employment, and independent living.
• Develop and implement IEP goals based on student needs and evaluation data.
• Monitor student progress toward IEP goals using ongoing data collection and progress monitoring tools.
• Administer and interpret assessments to support instructional planning and compliance.
• Maintain accurate and compliant special education documentation in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
• Serve as a Teacher of Record for assigned students, including scheduling and facilitating case conferences/IEP meetings.
• Ensure compliance with all requirements under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and applicable state regulations.
• Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress, services, and supports.
• Coordinate services with related service providers (e.g., speech/language, occupational therapy, counseling).
• Establish and maintain a structured, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
• Implement positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS) and individualized behavior plans as needed.
• Foster strong, respectful relationships with students to support engagement, self-advocacy, and independence.
• Build strong partnerships with families to support student success and transition planning.
• Support school-wide initiatives related to inclusion, student support, and school improvement goals.
• Uphold all district policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned by school administration.

Required Qualifications: Valid Indiana Teaching License - Special Education, Exceptional Needs: Mild Intervention

Salary: Based upon experience and qualifications
