Job Description

Position: Junior High Science Teacher (6-8)


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned science instruction for grades 6–8, including life, physical, earth/space, and environmental sciences. 
  • Implement curriculum that promotes scientific inquiry, critical thinking, problem-solving, and real-world application of scientific concepts.
  • Design and facilitate hands-on, inquiry-based labs and experiments that support student understanding of the scientific process.
  • Integrate STEM practices, technology, and cross-curricular connections into daily instruction.
  • Develop and administer formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress.
  • Analyze student data to inform instruction and provide targeted interventions.
  • Provide timely, constructive feedback to support student growth and mastery of standards.
  • Build strong relationships with students to foster engagement and curiosity in science.JH 
  • Collaborate with grade-level teams, STEM teams, special education staff, and instructional coaches to support all learners.
  • Participate in professional learning focused on student achievement and instructional practices related to science instruction, lab safety, and strategies.
  • Communicate regularly and foster partnerships with parents/guardians regarding student progress and classroom expectations and to support student learning at home.
  • Support school-wide STEM initiatives and improvement goals.
  • Uphold all district policies, procedures, and state requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by school administration.


Required Qualifications: Valid Indiana Teaching License - Science 

(Any Science 5-9, Science 5-12)


Salary: Based upon experience and qualifications
