Position: Junior High English Language Arts Teacher (6-8)

Primary Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned English/Language Arts instruction for grades 6–8, including reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
• Implement curriculum that builds foundational literacy skills, critical thinking, and effective communication.
• Design and facilitate lessons that incorporate a variety of instructional strategies, including differentiated instruction and project-based learning.
• Integrate technology and digital resources to enhance student learning and engagement.
• Develop and administer formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress.
• Analyze student data to inform instruction and provide targeted interventions.
• Build strong relationships with students to support engagement and achievement.
• Collaborate with grade-level teams, special education staff, and instructional coaches to support all learners.
• Participate in professional learning focused on student achievement and instructional practices.
• Communicate regularly and foster partnerships with parents/guardians regarding student progress and classroom expectations and to support student learning at home.
• Engage in ongoing professional development related to literacy instruction and strategies for English learners.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of students acquiring English as a new language.
• Implement strategies such as scaffolding, vocabulary development, language objectives, and visual supports to enhance comprehension.
• Collaborate with ENL/ELL staff to support language acquisition and academic success.
• Monitor and support student progress in both language development and content mastery.

Required Qualifications: Valid Indiana Teaching License Middle School English/Language Arts

Preferred Qualifications: Indiana Teaching License English as a New Language (ENL/ESL)

Salary: Based upon experience and qualifications
