Job Description
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Other duties may be assigned
Develop, implement, evaluate, and/or review individual educational plans (IEPs) and participate fully in IEP team meetings.
Use assessment data to plan and implement appropriate instructional strategies in accordance with the approved curriculum and students’ IEPs
Provides individualized and small group instruction
Plan, collaborate, and/or co-teach with general education teachers and other pertinent personnel regarding student instruction and needs
Evaluate and maintain accurate records as required by administration and Article 7, including student IEP progress monitoring, academic and social growth, incident reports, attendance, etc.
Implement strategies to keep students and parents informed of academic and behavioral performance
Develop, plan, and implement Functional Behavior Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans as indicated by student performance, including interventions for crisis situations
Plan for, coach, and collaborate with instructional assistants
Knows corporation and school policies and special education regulations
Handles the clerical functions and complies with district, IEP, and evaluation timelines
Actively participate in building-level multidisciplinary teams
Maintains satisfactory attendance
Complies with Corporation Bylaws, Policies, and Employee Handbook
Models Corporation Mission Statement and Fundamental Objectives
EDUCATION
LICENSE: Valid Indiana Teaching License. Special education licensure preferred.
