JOB GOAL: To fully implement instruction in the area of health science, healthcare, pre-nursing and related topics. Prepare students for entry level employment in healthcare and/or post-secondary education, and supervise the training needed to earn the Indiana CNA license. 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:  

1. Develop instructional objectives for each lesson concerning what students need and should learn and relate them to the course and MCSC curriculum.
2. Correlate learning activities with instructional objectives and with the maturity and academic level of the students.
3. Establish and maintain parent-teacher communications when necessary through conferences, phone calls, and digital resources.
4. Create and maintain an atmosphere conducive to each student’s emotional and behavioral development; one in which the students can develop a sense of worth and dignity.
5. Implement all corporation policies as they relate to the classroom.
6. Direct and supervise the conduct of all students in the classroom.
7. Requisition all prescribed instructional materials and supplies necessary to complete the academic year.
8. Assess student performance, maintain performance record-keeping, and make appropriate instructional decisions based on student performance.
9. Establish, coordinate, supervise, and maintain records for the MCSC CNA Training program as required by the Indiana State Department of Health.
10. Have the ability to develop partnerships with area healthcare facilities and community partners, including developing and maintaining a program advisory committee. 
11. Work with post-secondary partners to incorporate Dual Credit opportunities when possible.
12. All other duties as assigned by the building Principal and the CTE Assistant Principal

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Candidate must have appropriate Indiana teaching license or be eligible for a Workplace Specialist license based on 3+ years of experience working in the healthcare industry. 
2. Candidate must be a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse licensed and in good standing in the State of Indiana.
3. Candidate must have proven reliability, good organization skills, and ability to work well with students, parents and staff.
4. Candidate must possess an earned baccalaureate or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution. 
5. Candidate must have a minimum of 3 years of verifiable work experience; preferably in a long-term care facility. 
6. Meet the requirements needed to be a dual-credit instructor with post-secondary institutions.
