School Psychologist Position for the 2026-2027 school year
Terms of Employment:
Contract is 188 days. Contract renewed on annual basis dependent on satisfactory evaluation.
Evaluation: There will be a yearly evaluation.
Summary: Provides psycho-educational services to students with disabilities within
local public and private schools, assists with the development of plans which enable
children to attain achievement standards and independent skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following:
1. Conducts diagnostic evaluations to identify students' needs, potentials and
limitations by observing in classrooms and/or at play, studying school records,
consulting with parents and school personnel, administering diagnostic
instruments and interpreting the results.
2. Participates in a leadership role on multidisciplinary assessment team and
coordinates discussions.
3. Provides diagnostic information to assist pupils to achieve personal, social and
emotional growth.
4. May carry out research to aid in identifying appropriate services or to meet
current psychological, educational, social and emotional needs.
5. Serves as a resource to teachers and other school personnel on peer interaction,
relationships and behavioral management.
6. Refers individuals to community agencies to secure medical, vocational, mental
health or social services.
7. Establishes timeline, coordinates special education staff and administers evaluations.
8. Provides ongoing professional development for school and community when
requested.
9. Serves as consultant to school principals, parents and teachers in matters
involving psychological services in the schools and community.
10. Coordinates resources to assure a comprehensive educational evaluation is
completed.
11. Provides requested reports and information in a timely manner.
12. Follows IDEA, Article 7 rules and regulations as well as LPCSC Policies and
Procedures.
13. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform

Education and Experience: Master's Degree (M.A.) or equivalent in Educational
Psychology.
Certificates, Licenses, Registration: Holds and maintains current licensure as a
School Psychologist in the State of Indiana.
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze and interpret general periodicals,
professional journals, technical procedures and governmental regulations. Ability to
interpret reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to
effectively present information and respond to questions from school, parents and
community groups.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw
valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in
mathematical or diagram form dealing with statistical interpretation of testing results.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply and discuss mathematical concepts as needed
for statistical interpretation of testing results.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have
knowledge of Internet software and Word Processing software.
Other Qualifications: Must be able to provide own transportation and travel from
school to school on a daily basis.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk; use
hands to finger, handle, feel, talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to
stand, sit, reach with hands and arms and climb or balance. The employee is
occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, taste or smell. The employee must
regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by
this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth
perception and accurate focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or
humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is
usually moderate.
