Position Requirements

Special Education Resource Classroom position for the 2025-2026 School year at La Porte High School.


This position requires a Special Education license in either Mild or Intense Intervention with a K-12 or  elementary setting.  The applicant must be able to provide an active Indiana teaching license or be eligible to acquire an Emergency Permit for the position he/she is seeking.



TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:      

185 day year. Salary and work schedule to be determined by current salary schedule and position-appropriate work calendar.

                      

Before an individual (permanent or substitute) can work with students or have his/her name submitted for approval to the Board of School Trustees, the candidate must complete the background check authorization (at a cost of $15.00--cash or check) and the background check must receive a "cleared" rating.  Additionally, the individual must complete a federal I-9 form (providing appropriate identification documents); tax forms; a direct-deposit form (with an attached voided check); and, view training videos at the Educational Services Center (approximately one hour in length).
