Isom Elementary is hiring a Music Teacher for the 2026-27 School Year. The elementary music teacher is responsible for planning and delivering engaging music instruction aligned with Indiana Academic Standards for Music for students in grades K–5. The teacher will create a positive learning environment that fosters musical understanding, creativity, and appreciation while supporting the overall mission and goals of the school.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

-Plan and implement developmentally appropriate music instruction for students in grades K–5 -Teach fundamental music concepts
-Provide opportunities for students to sing, move, play instruments, and create music
-Organize and direct student performances and school music programs as appropriate -Maintain a safe, orderly, and engaging classroom environment
-Assess student learning and provide feedback to support growth
-Collaborate with classroom teachers, specialists, and administration
-Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff
-Maintain accurate records and follow school and district policies
-Perform other duties as assigned by the principal

Qualifications:

-Valid Indiana teaching license in Music Education or ability to obtain
-Knowledge of elementary music curriculum and instructional strategies
-Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families
-Effective classroom management and organizational skills
-Strong communication and collaboration skills
