NOTICE OF VACANCY
Position Title: Middle School Social Studies Teacher (Grades 6–8)
Category: Certified Teaching Position
Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Overview
Eminence Community Schools is seeking a dedicated, student-centered Middle School Social Studies Teacher to serve students in grades 6–8. The ideal candidate is passionate about helping students understand history, civics, geography, culture, and the world around them, while building strong relationships and maintaining high expectations for learning and character.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide engaging instruction aligned with Indiana Academic Standards for grades 6–8
- Develop lessons that promote inquiry, critical thinking, collaboration, and meaningful discussion
- Create a positive, supportive classroom environment focused on student growth
- Use data to inform instruction and support academic success
- Integrate technology to enhance learning
- Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues
- Contribute positively to the culture of Eminence Community Schools
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Valid Indiana Teaching License in Social Studies (Middle Grades) or ability to obtain
- Knowledge of middle school learners and developmentally appropriate practices
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to supporting academic, social, and emotional needs of students
- Ability to collaborate as part of a professional learning community
