High School Teacher
Qualifications:
Valid Indiana Teaching License
Knowledge of current computing technologies and software applications appropriate to the position's job responsibilities
Exceptional communication skills both written and oral
Demonstrates good sound judgment and the ability to function in a high stress environment

Position Goal:
To deliver effective, high quality instruction that includes rigor and relevance in their content areas in effort to produce measurable results of student achievement.
Performance Responsibilities:
Implements instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences.
Identifies, selects, and modifies instructional resources to meet the needs of the students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs.
Assists in assessing changing curricular needs and offers plans for improvement.
Maintains effective and efficient record keeping procedures, including the regular updating of grades electronically.
Provides a positive environment in which students are encouraged to be actively engaged in the learning process.
Communicates effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, parents, and other professionals on a regular basis.
Models professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, peers, and community.
Assumes responsibility for meeting his/her course and school-wide student performance goals.
Meets professional obligations through efficient work habits such as: meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, attending all faculty and department meetings, and being involved with the school improvement process.
All work responsibilities are subject to having performance goals and/or targets
established as part of the annual performance planning process or as the result of organizational planning.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the school administration.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Performs other such duties as assigned by the building Principal and/or Superintendent of schools.

185 student days per year (per Teacher Master Agreement)
