Elementary Teacher K-5 Alternative Program

REPORTS TO: Building Principal

SUPERVISES: None

FLSA Status: Exempt

COMPENSATION: Based on the Master Contract

WORK CALENDAR:185 Days

STANDARD HOURS: 8 Hours/Day, 40 Hours/Week

CORP STATUS: Certified

PERF: CPCSC is a Non-PERF District

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Contribute to a positive school family culture.
Build a trusting and safe environment for all students in your classroom.
Establish positive relationships with students and their families, obtaining information when requested and promptly returning phone calls and emails.
Participate in family/school partnership events to increase engagement.
Plan and deliver engaging, effective, and interactive lessons using the CPCSC frameworks.
Utilize teaching methods and approaches to meet students' varying needs and interests.
When necessary, make accommodations/modifications based on goals outlined in his/her IEP, LEP, 504, and/or MTSS plan.
Assess students' progress through various forms of evaluation.
Utilize assessment data to adjust instruction and learning objectives.
Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and families.
Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development.
Seek out materials to enhance instruction through the use of district resources and technology.
Supervise students at all times and maintain a safe and controlled classroom environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

B.A/B.S degree in teaching from an accredited institution or related field teaching
Indiana certification in teaching in appropriate subject area
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
Perform all other related work delegated or required to accomplish the objectives of the total school program
Knowledge and implementation of relevant technology
Meet professional teacher education requirements of school, district and state
