Job Description

Overview: 

A Circle City Schools (ACE Prep and Circle City Prep) Enrichment Lead will be a part of a team of game-changing teachers working to provide our scholars a well-rounded, multifaceted learning experience.  An Enrichment Lead takes responsibility for the development and growth of character, physical ability, creativity, and healthy habits of every child in the school and works with outside partners to expand our scholars’ experiences. 


Background on the Organization:

Circle City Schools is a small network of schools in Indianapolis, Indiana, composed of ACE Prep (K-6) and Circle City Prep (K-8). Both campuses are committed to high expectations paired with high levels of support. We hold a deep belief that all scholars have immense potential and unique strengths. ACE Prep, serving grades K-6 in the Greater Broad Ripple area, was founded in 2016 and boasts a 90%+ IREAD pass rate in SY24 and SY25. While focused on academic rigor, ACE totes a small school environment where each child is seen and cared for. Circle City Prep, serving K-8 scholars on the Far Eastside of Indianapolis, was founded in 2017 and serves 90%+ low-income and 30%+ multilingual learners. For the last four years, Circle City Prep has been the highest performing public school in its community and focuses on a well rounded school experience.


Job Responsibilities:

As an Enrichment Lead, you will:

  • Research, design, and/or document standards and curricula for students in grades K-8. Develop and deliver lesson plans covering grammar, vocabulary, and conversational skills to improve Spanish fluency.
  • Teacher students about the history, literature, music and customs of Spanish-speaking countries. 
  • Follow scripted curricula when provided; design lesson plans weekly, and as requested by manager
  • Teach multiple sections of class each day, across all grade-levels, across school sites.
  • Work with the manager to design, supervise, and implement all aspects of the school’s enrichment program, including coordinating with outside providers and vendors, maintaining records, participating in required training and certification processes, etc.
  • Work with classroom teachers to integrate brain breaks and activity in the classroom.
  • Lead productive, safe and joyful classroom learning environments.
  • Share responsibility for grade-level and school-wide activities and duties.
  • Engage families in their students’ education, including involving families in quarterly student performances or presentations.
  • Assist in coordinating the school’s celebrations and events.
  • Implement interventions for students in order to increase learning time and lead to mastery of grade-level content. 
  • Run weekly technology and/or SEL blocks with provided curriculum as well as Library class weekly.

Additional duties:

  • Lead a safe, joyful student lunch/recess
  • Participate in regular practice-based professional development and real-time coaching.
  • Participate in annual two-week Summer Experience (all staff) and three-days of New Hire Onboarding (new staff only).
  • Attend and participate in events outside of normal school hours (ex. family nights, student performances, field trips, family conferences, Back-to-School Nights, etc.).
  • Provide appropriate supervision of students during class, breaks, meals, enrichment, arrival/dismissal, and transitions to maintain an optimal work environment and to ensure students’ safety and well-being.
  • Other duties as assigned. 


Requirements:

To be considered as an Enrichment Lead, you must: 

  • Have a track record of producing dramatic, demonstrable student achievement gains or comparable results in current field
  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree with an outstanding record of academic achievement and extracurricular leadership, Master’s degree preferred
  • Native or near-native proficiency in Spanish and English.
  • Ability to travel between campuses.
  • Be a person who meets challenges with optimism and a solutions-oriented mindset. 
  • Valid Indiana State certification or proof of reciprocal licensure in a different state is preferred. Applicants in Indiana State-approved alternative certification programs must provide proof of enrollment. State-specific teacher certification or licensure for world languages, preferred.
  • Pass a criminal background check, as required by law.
