Job Description
IMSA Central is a brand new expansion charter school opening in Fall 2026. As a Founding Teacher you have the opportunity to help build a school from day 1. Classroom Teachers are responsible for creating a dynamic, engaging, and nurturing learning environment that fosters students' academic growth and development. The teacher will implement a comprehensive educational program and collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and parents to support student learning and growth. We have openings for teachers in kindergarten to sixth grade.
Please note this position is not for our North or West Campuses; it is for Central School.

Requirements:
Instructional Planning and Delivery:
- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with state standards and school curriculum.
- Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and instructional resources to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
- Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and guide instructional decisions.
Classroom Management:
- Establish and maintain a respectful and effective classroom management system.
- Promote positive student behavior and address behavioral issues in accordance with school policies.
- Foster a safe and supportive classroom atmosphere that encourages risk-taking and learning from mistakes.
- Ensure that student conduct conforms with the school's standards and school district policies.
- Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.
Student Support and Differentiation:
- Identify and address individual student needs through differentiated instruction and personalized learning plans.
- Provide additional support to students with special needs, including collaborating with special education staff.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress.
Communication and Collaboration:
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and development.
- Participate in parent-teacher conferences, staff meetings, and professional development opportunities.
- Collaborate with grade-level teams, instructional coaches, and other staff to plan and improve instructional practices.
Professional Development and Growth:
- Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
- Reflect on personal teaching practices and seek feedback for continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Education or a related discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
- Valid Indiana Teaching License
- Previous teaching experience in a school setting is preferred
- Upon offer, the applicant must complete and clear all background check requirements for school personnel as required by IN state law.
