The Viola School District is seeking an enthusiastic and student-focused educator to serve as a Girls Basketball Coach and Physical Education/Health Teacher. This position is responsible for leading and developing a competitive girls basketball program while also providing high-quality instruction in physical education and health that promotes lifelong wellness and fitness for all students.

The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of the girls basketball program, including planning and conducting practices, developing game strategies, supervising student-athletes, and promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, and accountability. The coach will ensure compliance with all district and Arkansas Activities Association guidelines while building a positive and competitive program that reflects the values of the school and community.

In the classroom, the teacher will deliver engaging physical education and health instruction aligned to state standards, focusing on physical fitness, health awareness, and overall student well-being. The candidate will create a safe and inclusive environment that encourages participation from all students, while using effective classroom management and instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs.

Additional responsibilities include maintaining open communication with parents, staff, and administration, supporting overall school initiatives, and contributing to a positive school culture. The candidate should demonstrate strong leadership, organization, and the ability to build relationships with students both in the classroom and through athletics.

Qualified applicants must hold a valid Arkansas teaching license with appropriate certification in Physical Education and/or Health. Coaching experience, particularly in basketball, is preferred. The ideal candidate will be committed to student growth both academically and athletically and will take pride in representing the Viola School District.
