Job Description
POSITION TITLE: Digital Arts Teacher
QUALIFICATIONS:
ADE Licensure in one of the following areas:
250 - Business Technology
571 – Advertising Design
591 – Radio Television Broadcasting
595 - Television Broadcasting
602 – Commercial Photography
618 – Communications
815 – Business & Marketing
REPORTS TO: Principal and Director of CTE
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 200 days with benefits provided according to Siloam Springs School Board policies.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Develop and deliver engaging curriculum in digital media to high school students.
Instruct students on the fundamentals of broadcasting, including scriptwriting, camera operation, editing, and production techniques.
Teach students how to plan, produce, and execute live broadcasts using livestreaming platforms.
Provide guidance and mentorship to students on developing their storytelling, interviewing, and presentation skills.
Build a program of study with students passionate about producing television or other digital content.
Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that fosters creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking.
Stay current with industry trends and technologies related to the digital arts.
Diagnose and evaluate student abilities and progress in a timely and consistent manner.
Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning.
Assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required.
Effectively implement district initiatives.
Effectively collaborate with department and grade level teachers.
Work with the district to provide audio/video services at district events including but not limited to athletic competitions, award ceremonies, and other events.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
Abide by state statutes, school board policies, and regulations.
Attend meetings and perform duties as assigned by administrators or supervisors.
Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulation.
Serve on committees as assigned.
Previous experience teaching broadcasting, journalism, or digital media courses is preferred.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor degree preferred.
