Job Description
Fayetteville Public Schools is seeking a qualified and motivated Assistant Boys Basketball Coach to support the development and success of the boys basketball program.
Responsibilities include:
Assist the Head Coach in all aspects of the boys basketball program, grades 7–12
Support planning and supervision of practices, games, and off-season development
Assist with skill development, scouting, and game preparation
Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, and positive representation of Fayetteville athletics
Supervise student-athletes at all times during practices, games, and travel
Help coordinate summer programs, camps, and player development opportunities
Assist with equipment, uniforms, and inventory management
Maintain strong communication with players, parents, staff, and administration
Support academic expectations and eligibility requirements for student-athletes
Ensure compliance with AAA rules, district policies, and athletic department procedures
Attend required athletic department meetings and school events
Qualifications:
Previous basketball coaching or playing experience preferred
Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals and player development
Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
Ability to build positive relationships with students and families
Must meet Fayetteville Public Schools employment requirements
CPR and AED certification required
Additional Expectations:
Demonstrate professionalism and integrity in all interactions
Serve as a positive role model for student-athletes
Teaching duties to be assigned will be Health and PE. The candidate must be certified in Health/PE for grades 7-12 and licensed in the state of Arkansas.
