Ignite Technology Teacher
Position Purpose
Under the general supervision of the director, facilitate student success and growth in academic, technical and interpersonal skills through implementation of district approved curriculum; document teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; address specific educational needs of individual students and create a flexible, safe and optimal learning environment; and provide feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc.
Essential Functions
Create and maintain professional relationships with students.
Facilitate a profession-based classroom.
Support students in professional projects and the development of professional skills
Establish a professional business environment for the students.
Collaborate with the Northwest Arkansas Community College to meet requirements for students to earn concurrent credit.
Communicate and collaborate with Technology professional to establish projects and internships for students in the areas of cloud computing, network security, emerging technologies, data science, etc.
Speak to groups about the Ignite Professionals Studies Program.
Engage with professional organizations that promote Technology careers.
Follow the school's policies and procedures for grading.
Maintain and sustain a strong local advisory group.
Recruit students for the Technology career strand.
Additional Duties
Performs other related tasks as assigned by the director and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.

Equipment
Uses standard office equipment such as personal computers, printer, copy and fax machines, and telephone.
Travel Requirements
Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiating instruction based upon student learning styles.
Knowledge of technology curriculum and concepts.
Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis and the formulation of action plans.
Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students.
Ability to use computer network systems and software applications as needed.
Ability to organize and coordinate work.
Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents.
Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth.
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work
Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards
Works in standard office and school building environments.
Certification/License
Arkansas Teaching License or Technical Permit required.
Education
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university required.
A Master's Degree in Technology or Engineering is ideal.
Experience
Successful work experience in the technology or engineering field is necessary.
