Alma School District is seeking an assistant basketball coach certified to teach 7-12 Education. This position is a 210 day contract to begin in July. The assistant basketball coach works directly with the guidelines provided by the Arkansas Activities Association.

EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS and/or EXPERIENCE

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Holds or is able to secure an Arkansas teacher license in grades 7-12
Valid Arkansas coaching certification or endorsement

ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES, EXPERIENCE AND SKILL SET

Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and personal growth
Appropriate classroom management skills
Responsible for different phases of the basketball program 7-12
Will help develop and assist with the overall basketball program
Will help develop and assist with the off season basketball program
Will assist the Senior High Head Coach with the day to day operations of the program
Demonstrate an active interest in the academic progress of student athletes in an attempt to prevent academic eligibility problems
CDL encouraged, but not required
Other duties as assigned
