Job Description
JOB TITLE: High School Science Teacher REPORTS TO: Principal
LOCATION: Must be able to commute to the Little Rock, AR campus daily.
STATUS: Open until filled. Target Start Date: As soon as possible
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Commence July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026. Compensation will be prorated based on the hiring date and successful completion of the background check. Benefits package offered. NOTE: Precise placement within the salary range will be determined based upon education and experience.
POSITION SUMMARY: Graduate Arkansas, Inc. is seeking a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher to provide high-quality instruction in life sciences, physical sciences, earth and space sciences, and scientific inquiry. The Science Teacher will develop and implement an engaging curriculum that promotes scientific literacy, critical thinking, problem-solving, and hands-on learning while meeting state standards. This position will provide both in-person and virtual instruction, differentiate to meet diverse student needs, assess student progress, and create a positive learning environment that encourages scientific exploration and achievement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan and deliver engaging science instruction aligned with Arkansas state standards and curriculum frameworks
- Develop and implement both in-person and online lessons using a variety of instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs
- Create authentic assessments to evaluate student understanding and provide meaningful feedback
- Incorporate laboratory experiments, demonstrations, and technology to enhance student learning
- Foster scientific inquiry, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills in students
- Differentiate instruction to accommodate various learning styles and ability levels
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, behavior, and academic progress
- Communicate regularly with students, families, and colleagues regarding student performance
- Collaborate with teaching team to develop interdisciplinary units and share best practices
- Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching effectiveness
- Establish and maintain a classroom environment that promotes respect, responsibility, and active learning
- Support school-wide initiatives and participate in school activities and events
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Science Education, or related field (required)
- Valid Arkansas Teaching License with Science endorsement for appropriate grade levels
- Knowledge of science content, pedagogy, and current instructional practices
- Experience with educational technology and online teaching platforms preferred
- Ability to engage students in hands-on laboratory activities and scientific investigations
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Commitment to culturally responsive teaching practices
- Proficiency with educational technology and relevant software applications
- Valid Arkansas driver's license and current TB test
- Ability to perform in an indoor classroom/laboratory environment with some physical requirements including sitting, standing, and occasional lifting of light objects
This position combines traditional science content expertise with modern digital teaching capabilities to develop students' scientific literacy, critical thinking, and investigative skills.
ENVIRONMENT: The Science Teacher will work in a fast-paced educational environment that requires adaptability, creativity, and strong problem-solving skills. This role may require occasional travel for field trips or professional development and flexibility to attend after-hours meetings or events.
