Job Description

Elementary Teacher (K–2) – Future Openings for the 2026–2027 School Year

Location: Little Rock | LISA West Charter School

LISA West Elementary is seeking a creative, high-energy elementary teacher for Kindergarten, 1st Grade, OR 2nd Grade. Candidates will be hired for one specific grade level based on school needs—this is not a multi-grade teaching position.

We are looking for a teacher who takes initiative and is committed to continuous growth. We already have a strong, established curriculum—we need someone who can bring it to life through creativity, innovation, and meaningful STEM integration.

This role is ideal for a teacher who wants to grow, refine their craft, and push themselves to become a stronger educator while contributing to a high-performing charter school environment focused on student success and retention.

Position Purpose

Under the general supervision of the School Principal, the Elementary Teacher will be assigned to one grade level (Kindergarten, 1st, or 2nd grade) and will facilitate student success and growth in both academic and interpersonal skills. This includes implementing curriculum, tracking student progress, addressing individual learning needs, and creating a structured, safe, and engaging classroom environment. The teacher will also provide consistent feedback to students, parents, and administration regarding progress, expectations, and goals.

Essential Functions (Non-Negotiables)

Instruction & Planning

Implement a strong, established curriculum with fidelity while enhancing it through creative and STEM-based strategies
Design lesson plans that increase engagement, critical thinking, and real-world connections
Maximize instructional time through intentional planning, pacing, and execution

Student Learning & Support

Conduct frequent checks for understanding (CFUs) and ongoing assessments to monitor student progress
Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners, including students with special needs
Provide targeted small group and individualized instruction to close gaps and accelerate learning

Classroom Environment

Establish and maintain a structured, safe, and student-centered learning environment
Set clear expectations and ensure consistent student accountability and behavior management
Build a classroom culture that promotes creativity, collaboration, and academic risk-taking

Professional Growth & Responsibilities

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for student progress, attendance, and performance
Communicate consistently and effectively with parents, students, and administration
Participate in professional development, coaching cycles, and collaborative planning
Demonstrate a willingness to learn, grow, and implement feedback

Collaboration & School Contribution

Work closely with grade-level teams to align instruction and improve outcomes
Contribute to school-wide initiatives that support student engagement and retention
Manage instructional materials and classroom resources effectively

Student Supervision & Compliance

Supervise students during classroom and school-wide activities
Ensure compliance with all school policies, procedures, and state requirements
Administer required assessments, including standardized testing, with fidelity
What We Are Looking For
A teacher who is creative, passionate, proactive, and takes initiative
Someone who can integrate STEM into daily instruction in meaningful ways
A candidate who wants to grow and become a stronger teacher
Strong commitment to high expectations, accountability, and student success
A team player who understands they are part of a larger mission and vision
Why This Role Matters

At LISA West, strong teaching is not optional—it is essential.
